MUST WATCH: DYSTOPIA IN SHANGHAI

SCREAMS FROM SKYSCRAPERS

China's worsening Covid-19 situation has turned into a grave humanitarian situation (again), with millions in Shanghai locked indefinitely inside their homes, with barely any food, water, money or rights. Over 60,000 people have watched this video in the last 12 hours—you want to, too.

🥀 Death toll from a Russian missile strike against a train station in the eastern town of Kramatorsk has risen to 57. 109 were wounded.

🇺🇦 Ukraine is bracing for the next phase of the war: an attack on Donbas in the east. Newly released satellite images show a 13-km-long Russian military convoy moving east of Kharkiv.

🇬🇧 UK's PM Boris Johnson secretly travelled to Kyiv and shot a video walking the streets with President Zelenskyy—in a bold statement. UK will send lethal harpoon anti-tank missiles to Ukraine.

💀 Russian atrocities over the past seven weeks are surfacing. Along one highway running south from Kyiv to Zhytomyr, 50 bodies were found. The mayor of Zhytomyr called it the "road of death".

🇫🇷 French experts are in Ukraine to investigate possible war crimes by Russia. The long list of allegations include indiscriminate military attacks on civilians, torture, mass executions, murder, looting, rape and more.

💸 Ukraine’s economy is expected to shrink by roughly 45% this year, the World Bank estimates. Russia's economy will likely fall by 11%.

INDIA-US TALKS

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden will hold virtual talks in a few hours. This will be followed by the annual meeting between their foreign and defence, known as the 2+2 Dialogue.

So, what will Modi and Biden talk about? Pandemic, security, democracy, trade...and Russia's war?

🙃 ICYMI: Delhi's press release ahead of the talks will be all about "comprehensive global strategic partnership" between the two countries. But Washington's statement says Biden intends to talk about "mitigating the destabilising impacts of Russia's war against Ukraine", suggesting that the US will nudge India to get off the fence when it comes to Russia's war on Ukraine. Oh, and preferably stop buying oil and arms from them—and buy it from the US instead.
